Dr. Albert W. Gillespy is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and lifelong Daytona Beach resident. He joined The Orthopedic Clinic in 1987, proudly following in the footsteps of his father, Dr. Thurman Gillespy Jr., who founded The Orthopedic Clinic in 1961, and now practices alongside his brother, Mark.

With more than three decades of experience, Dr. Gillespy has dedicated his career to helping patients live healthier, more active lives through comprehensive, patient-centered orthopedic care.

He has also contributed to innovation in the field through the development of spinal implants and spinal braces, reflecting his commitment to improving patient outcomes.

Dr. Gillespy’s approach to care is built on listening carefully and engaging patients in their treatment. He believes it is important for patients to feel heard, fully understand their condition, and have a clear plan for recovery. His combination of technical skill, thoughtful communication, and decades of experience allows him to tailor each treatment plan to meet individual needs and goals.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Gillespy enjoys spending time outdoors, working on his property, and cheering on the Florida Gators and Atlanta Braves. His personal philosophy in life is “to be the best at whatever you do.” This has helped guide his work every day and underscores his commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate orthopedic care.

Dr. Gillespy and his wife, Doreen, are proud parents of two daughters. Danielle earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, works at Halifax Health Medical Center in neonatal and labor-delivery care.
