About Dr. Jeffrey M. Alent
Dr. Jeffrey M. Alent is a board-certified, fellowship-trained sports medicine physician who was born and raised in Michigan. Dr. Alent joined The Orthopedic Clinic in January 2023 with special interests in musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries, interventional ultrasonography, and Orthobiologics, including Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections. As a non-surgical specialist, he focuses on developing comprehensive care plans and maximizing non-surgical management options for his patients.
Dr. Alent received his medical degree from Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Detroit Medical Center. After residency, he moved to Florida to pursue a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship through the University of South Florida and BayCare-Morton Plant Health Systems.
He has extensive training in interventional and diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, which he uses to visualize anatomy, ensure accurate needle placement, and minimize pain during selected injections.
As part of his non-operative care approach, Dr. Alent provides the latest in Orthobiologics and regenerative medicine, including PRP injections, to treat a variety of conditions such as osteoarthritis, tennis/golfer’s elbow, partial rotator cuff, hamstring, Achilles, gluteal, and other tendon tears, as well as a wide array of musculotendinous injuries. He enjoys discussing all available treatment options with patients to help them maximize functional capacity without surgery whenever possible.
Dr. Alent has served as a physician at numerous sporting events, including sideline, training room, and event coverage for the University of South Florida Bulls Football, Soccer, and Basketball teams; the Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays organizations and their minor league affiliates; and multiple high schools. He has also worked as an endurance medicine physician at Ironman events, marathons, and triathlons.
He is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and has been published in multiple medical journals.
At The Orthopedic Clinic, Dr. Alent sees patients at the Daytona Beach Walk-In Clinic.
In his personal life, he enjoys fishing, powerlifting, and spending time with family.
