About Dr. Jeffrey W. Martin
Dr. Jeffrey W. Martin is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and Florida native who joined The Orthopedic Clinic in 2005. He specializes in sports medicine, joint replacement, and the treatment of traumatic injuries, with a patient-centered approach focused on precision, recovery, and long-term outcomes.
Dr. Martin completed his medical degree at New York Medical College, followed by orthopedic surgery residency training at the University of Miami. He went on to complete advanced fellowship training in sports medicine through Stanford University in collaboration with the San Francisco 49ers.
His expertise in sports-related injuries has allowed him to care for athletes at both the collegiate and professional levels, including serving as an orthopedic physician at the 2005 NFL Scouting Combine.
With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Martin incorporates minimally invasive and technology-assisted techniques to help patients achieve faster recovery with less discomfort.
His practice includes robot-assisted total knee replacement, computer-guided navigation for hip surgery, arthroscopic shoulder procedures, and complex knee ligament reconstructions. He places a strong emphasis on personalized care and works closely with physical therapy teams to optimize recovery and functional outcomes.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Martin has served as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Halifax Health since 2020, reflecting his leadership and commitment to advancing orthopedic care in the region.
Dr. Martin believes that choosing surgery is a significant decision and prioritizes open communication, education, and shared decision-making so patients feel confident and informed throughout their treatment.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Martin enjoys riding motorcycles and playing tennis, a lifelong passion he now shares with his children. He values staying active and understands firsthand the importance of helping patients return to the activities they enjoy most.

- Hip: Anterior approach, muscle-sparing hip replacement
- Trauma: Treatment of upper and lower extremity fractures
