About Dr. Joseph R. Locker
Dr. Joseph Locker is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with over two decades of clinical experience. He joined The Orthopedic Clinic in January 2026 with special interests in adult joint reconstruction, including hip and knee replacement surgery, as well as sports medicine and arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery.
He has a strong background in primary joint replacement, with over 10,000 total joint procedures performed throughout his career, and has pioneered the direct anterior approach to total hip replacement.
Dr. Locker received his medical training and developed his subspecialty expertise through years of experience in community-based practice, serving thousands of patients with arthritis and sports-related injuries.
Since 2001, he has also served as the team physician for the College of Central Florida, furthering his experience in athletic injury care. Throughout his career, Dr. Locker has demonstrated leadership in surgical departments, physician advisory boards, and medical executive committees.
He is dedicated to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care while mentoring other physicians and advancing orthopedic practices through education and research.
At The Orthopedic Clinic, Dr. Locker sees patients at the following locations: Daytona Beach, Port Orange, and Palm Coast.
Outside of his work, Dr. Locker enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and exercising.

- Knee: Arthroscopic knee surgery for meniscus tears and ligament injuries, total knee replacement for advanced arthritis and joint degeneration
- Hip: Total hip replacement for degenerative joint disease, arthritis, and other conditions affecting hip function
- Shoulder: Arthroscopic shoulder surgery for rotator cuff tears, labral injuries, and impingement
- Sports Medicine: Comprehensive evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic sports-related injuries, including non-surgical and surgical management to help patients return to activity safely and effectively
